So, here's the gist of it: Originally I was going to be much further ahead with my comic "Vergil". Ideally, I would have been at the comic's climatic point, which is a direct reference to the event 2Dante is hinting at here.

Like how earlier scenes of Pandora corresponded and tied into my other fan comics "Dare"(Pandora part 10-13) and "Redemption" (Pandora part 20-23), we were going to see this scene here and understand what 2Dante was talking about.

While I was drawing this I realized I was nowhere near getting to that climatic event in the main comic, and so I struggled with spoiling "Vergil" or changing Pandora's storyline entirely or -- as I decided, in the end -- keep it ambiguous.

All you have to know is that something about Vergil (and Dante's subsequent decision concerning him) caused Dante to lose everyone he loved in this timeline. It also lead to the apparent destruction of his world, to the point where the whole damn thing looks as run down as it did in the DMC2 game proper.

Fun fact! This is the exact same 2Dante that would've appeared in my ill-fated "Hell Side" fan comic.

Now, it's time for Nero to go home.
