I was so wondering what you thought of this game. XD When it came out, I was like way skeptical, and then I got it and like, omg. I am so impressed. Love it. So much. I accept this new Dante.
About the art though, since that's why I'm here. Haha. You got his expression down pat, that little crazy smirk he's got. Same old Dante~ I actually really like the sort of watercolour-y painting style you used too, it's a bit grungy, and just works!
Oh karaii, why is everything you draw so beautiful? I especially like how you draw noses. It's just wonderful. And now, excuse me for I am obliged to comment on the new DmC.
For the most part, I agree with what Jin-Kurazama said, but I'd like to add this:
The characters as a whole just aren't well designed. There is zero character development at all; and out of the main characters, no one stands out or is recogniseable as an independent personality-having person. I can't even name one defining character trait for any main character! In fact, the only character I actually cared for a bit was Lilith, but I won't spoil - let's just say she had more character depth than anyone else had in comparison.
This not a "this is not like the old DMC games"-problem, this is a general problem of a poorly written game.
Another point I'd like to add is the dialogue. You see, I don't expect a game to have dialogue like Legacy Of Kain. I don't expect a game to sound like written by Oscar Wilde or Henry James. But I'd like to have some meaningful sentences, some depth, maybe one-liners, actually emotional dialogue which indicates personality - that would be nice and enjoyable, and that is not what the new DmC has. It's either cryptic BS, but not the good kind, or a battle of wits copied straight out of a youtube comment thread consisting of profanities (yes, redundant to add that, but hey). To me, it made the game painful at it's worst and meh at best.
However, I like the game mechanics and the graphics and the music. Holy hell, the level designs are extraordinary and stunning; the combat system, while not that hard, is a lot of fun, and the music is great. Cleverly designed enemies as well, extra points for one badass boss fight (again, no spoilers). Also, I actually liked the story a lot; it had great potential and was quite intriguing.
All in all, the game is not bad; but it just takes itself too seriously. It lacks all the charming humour, the subtle drama, the depth and the glorious over-the-top hamminess of the previous DMCs.

Still, I'd give it a 6/10.
Haven't played it yet, but from the looks of it, it's pretty awesome!
